Crazy Street Corner Guy Off His Meds Says:

Harvey Keitel says that he once spent a night in jail with Bob Dylan, they were in a bar and then a bar fight, some guy didn't like Dylan's polka-dots. Harvey says he hates polka-dots, too, but that isn't enough of a reason to fight when you could be drinking instead, so he picked the guy off of Dylan and broke his jaw with a cue ball from the pool table, no real harm done. Still, the police decided to get involved and Harvey and Dylan ended up in the jail together. Harvey says Dylan seemed worried that Harvey would rape him in the jail cell, but Harvey says he hates polka-dots, so that was that, Harvey smoked all of Dylan's cigarettes and they were out the next morning. Harvey has met a lot of people in jail.

Interesting that the Wikipedia article on Dylan has no mention of Madison. It must have been the fall of 1960 because it says he was in NY by Jan 1961.

I was in Madison 1960-62 going to graduate school.

Bob Dylan slept here! Madison is famous now.

Seriously, the reputation of Madison has been spread exponentially by the work done by a certain Blogger who still sleeps there.
