Well, I for one. Was in the grocery store today, and got pushed to contribute for breast cancer, and I asked when she had contributed for prostate cancer. She hadn't, so I didn't.

I don't donate to cancer charities, their administrative costs are so high, that pennies on the dollar ever reach any viable research vehicle. When the charity administration payroll is pulling hundreds of thousands of dollar if not millions for directorships or chairmanships, then are we really trying to fight cancer or give these people a vehicle for further self-promotion?

By the way, the only cure that I know of that exist for any ailment at the moment is athletes foot and vaginal yeast infections.

If they had given the money to charity instead of buying all of those pink hats, jerseys, arm bands, signs, goal posts, flags, shoes, gloves, hankies, banners, TV commercials at the NFL games for the last couple of weeks, they would be ahead of the game now.

There were scandals among the American Cancer Society local chapters, but the national organization maintains a robust intramural research program and does a good job of funding outside research. Even so, I would be interested to know what the overhead percentage is.
