"Had the nature of the blog been made clear at the outset, the article would have described it accordingly..."

LOL. The NYT trusts some blog to be telling a straight story. There was no "satire" tag, apparently, so how can you blame them?

It will be a hardback bestselling chicklit novel next summer and a hit movie two years later.

Times sure doesn't get the Internet, do they?

The NYT proudly explains why they are the Paper of Record for all Rumors that are interesting enough to print. The reporting of News from investigated sources is too dull for them. But please don't quit reading the saga of soap-opera plots the NYT generates for all the right reasons. Dan Rather remains their great role model.

Indeed, the pranksters are now represented by United Talent and Janklow Nesbit, says NY Mag.

"[Chief prankster] says the site is rooted in emotional truth--the real pain of once-pampered Wall Street wives and girlfriends--and that she and cofounder Petrus were prompted to launch the blog after the recession hit their own love lives. Their agency, Janklow Nesbit, says that’s enough to base a book on. “It’s a humor book. That’s the category it would be,” says agent Rebecca Gradinger. “But they are poking fun at themselves a little bit. It’s a character, but it’s a little bit of them as well.” Yes, only it is much less of them than you might have thought."

Ah, emotional truth.

Just like in court.....Do you swear to tell the emotional truth, the whole emotional truth, and nothing but the whole emotional truth?
