Exploding head syndrome!

It's just one of a number of unusual things.

And what do "My Head is Spinning," "Now, Stand Back For Your Own Safety!,” "Okay I'll Admit That I Really Don't Understand," "Schizos (Are Never Alone)," "Television Rules the Nation," "That Tastes Horrible," "Egg Sandwich," "Thermonuclear War (Is Good For Your Complexion)," The “Batman” theme song, and "Pennsylvania 6-5000" have in common? (Answer here.)

Actually, I think I experienced exploding head syndrome once. If you don't know what it is, you may be saying, how could you possibly have it more than once, and, moreover, why are you still here?

Though not actually counting - honest, I have a life - I'm pretty sure 'Kraftwerk' have the most entries.

A list titled 'Songs with more words in the title than lyrics in the piece - but not counting classical music as that would be silly' would similarly be headed by these gorgeous Teutonic robotic beings.

Apparently they're working on a opera.

Don't be hatin' on Kraftwerk, now.

Peter: I don't have a life, so I'll do the math. After a quick glance, I see that Daft Punk (7 entries) and the delicately named "An** Cu**" (with 6 entries, including the tour de force "Mike Mahan Has Gingivitis") beat out Kraftwerk (with 5 entries). I may be missing a group though, as those were the entries that jumped out at me.

Whether or not any "songs" by "An** Cu**"" even qualify as music, on the other hand, is still up for debate. From their wikipedia entry it sure sounds like they put on one heck of a live show, though: "This tour firmly left An** Cu**’s violent footprint on Europe, with most of the shows consisting of Putnam and Ordonez going into the crowd, punching people and destroying equipment..."

"One ongoing dispute is whether A*** C*** actually takes their own music seriously."

Ongoing? Can't take long to resolve that one surely?

So OK, 'Kraftwerk: the Opera' starts here...

Overture: Three layers of 'Trans-Europe Express' [1 hour]

Prelude: Silence [3 seconds]

Act 1: The boys arrive in Baden-Baden.

...Over to you. I've done the creative bit, someone else write the words and I'll hum the tunes.

How about "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" by Pink Floyd?

Back to exploding heads for a second.

I never knew what it was before now, but it definitely happened to me:

Fell into a dreamless sleep at 2:30 AM.

*BANG!*

Whaa?? Looked around. It was 3:45. My wife was sleeping soundly. Got up. The kids ditto.

Hmmm.... In my head? How's my brain working? Played a 45-move chess game with my computer. Lost, but not badly. Grey cells normal. Back to sleep. Exhausted in the morning.

This happened five or six times over a period of a couple of months, when I was particularly frazzled and getting 3 hours sleep a night.

Then it stopped. Nice to know it wasn't aliens or my neighbor skeet shooting at 3 in the morning.
