Mid-fall, UW Law School.

I never seem to get any good shots of the Law School. But I kind of like this one from yesterday, with one bare tree and one showy one.

It looks like a nice place to go to work, and that is a beautiful picture! I've been sitting out on the college green on my campus more often lately, noticing the trees and landscaping, after seeing all the pictures on your blog. Great job!

The bare tree was successfully sued by the luxuriant tree.

I think the bare tree is one of the last of the elms that used to line the mall and have expired over time. The leafy tree is one of the oaks that have replaced them.

Can you describe that addition? It was not part of the school during my tenure. What is located in the new part? Are there still gargoyles?

The gargoyles are in storage somewhere. The glass section you see is the library, which is the middle part of the building. The stuff on the two sides is much the same, but the middle connecting the sides is all new. The big classroom in the front and the terrace in front are replaced. There's a big atrium, which is the student lounge.

I'd describe the new addition as sort of a cross between an airplane hanger and a minimum-security prison.

Danny's right. When inside, it's hard to shake that cell block atmosphere. Anybody know who sat on the building committee?
