"I don't listen to a whole lot of new music. I just kind of scan the channels and see what's out there."

Yeah, me too. And I've got to get in the car and scan on and on for about 400 miles today, or I'd spend more time reading this nice, meaty interview with Roger McGuinn, where I snagged that quote. So you read it and talk about it and I'll come back and join the discussion when I get to my destination, if I do.

Don't you love The Byrds?

Uh, Ann, has there every really been a bigger dork than Roger McGuinn?

I rather liked his last offering on his website, a compilation of his Folk Den Project releases.

Roger McGuinn has a prime place in my heart. I knew him when he was Jim McGuinn. I and all my friends loved him. His was the first concert I ever saw, March 27, 1966.

New music recommendation. Well, it's not that new, but I have a feeling it'll be new to a lot of people who read this site: The New Pornographers. They have three CDs out since 2000. They are absolutely addictive. This is the band Neko Case sings with, and her solo stuff is great too, but very different. Neko Case will appeal to those who love folk and country, but aren't so sure about pop or rock anymore. The New Pornographers are what would happen if Brian Wilson was born 30 years ago, rather than 60 years ago.
