The video mockery Turkey's president Erdogan wants taken down from the internet.

I wouldn't have noticed that but for Ergogan's effort at suppression. The video comes from a German TV show, extra3. Note the mockery of Angela Merkel in the video.
Christiane Wirtz, a spokeswoman for Ms. Merkel, confirmed that the German ambassador to Ankara, Martin Erdmann, had been summoned on March 22 over the video.... German officials would not confirm reports that the Turkish side had requested that the video be taken down from the Internet.

But [Sawsan Chebli, a spokeswoman for Germany’s Foreign Ministr] said the ambassador and a deputy foreign minister, who called his Turkish counterpart on Tuesday, had “made clear that political satire in Germany is, of course, protected and therefore there is neither a necessity, nor a possibility, for the government to take action.”

The show’s reaction to the dispute was tongue-in-cheek. It posted a political cartoon showing a figure resembling Mr. Erdogan brandishing a fire extinguisher at a laptop, while threatening, “Either you erase this video, or I will extinguish the Internet.”

He could just erase it with, you know, like a cloth, or something.

The show's reaction is more derisive than tongue-in-cheek.

Wiki: Streisand Effect

Hillary can sympathize. She put one filmakker in prison for making a film she didn't like and made a federal case out of Citizen's United which also made a film she didn't like. Look for "lèse majesté" laws to be enacted here whenever "her majesty" is a Democrat.

Perfect example of what has come to be called the Streisand Effect,

"The Streisand effect is the phenomenon whereby an attempt to hide, remove, or censor a piece of information has the unintended consequence of publicizing the information more widely, usually facilitated by the Internet."

Ergodan has been jailing a lot of journalists and freedom of speech in Turkey is under great threat. I was hoping the Gezi park protests in 2013 and anti-AKP protests recently would help topple him, but they haven't worked. It's because Turkey is doing great economically and a lot of people give Ergodan credit for that.
He'll be in the US on a state visit soon so I hope Obama puts some pressure on him to improve his human rights record. I doubt that'll happen because Turkey is a vital member of the anti-ISIS coalition.

The Turks invented modern Genocide. So Erdrogan wants a piece of the action killing Kurds for the fun of cruelty.

This episode also demonstrates Islam's/Muslims' weakest point - it and they can't take a joke.

Meaning, we should increase the level of ridicule to the sky.

Germans have noticed a conspiracy between Erdogan and Merkel to facilitate and exploit Obama's "refugee crises". I wonder if the standard dose of opiates will be sufficient to suppress the people's will. They may need to up the redistributive change or send in the social justice activists to intimidate the natives.

Fun to watch him and Putin go at it.

"Obama has, according to the Post, spent more time speaking on the phone with Erdogan than any other ally. Indeed, in a cover story interview with Time Magazine, Obama told a fawning Fareed Zakaria that Erdoğan was someone with whom he had become friends and forged “bonds of trust.” "

The song has a nice play on the German six W questions for journalists: Wer (who), was (what), wie (how), wo (where), wann (when), and warum (why).

Interesting view from the rim of the crater out here. Looks like Turkey still has an army that fights, isn't unionized, only working 5 days and 5 hours a day for full pay (see France and Germany), and still remembers which end of a rifle to hold and has limited ammunition supplies for both war and practice, much less what it takes to stop tanks and mine their own roads. Would be a repeat of Mumbai if Turkey decides to march to the Channel taking out all the countries between Istanbul and the water. Unless of course the U.S. (or the brits might be able to take their tactical nukes out of mothballs, assuming they still work.) And for that matter the U.S. cruise missiles have the same challenge, the U.S. military unwilling to fund any support or preparation for weapons they never think they’ll never use. MAD doesn't work when the adversary thinks they are already destroyed which is what a leader has to assume will happen if the situation doesn't change and he's deposed and his family executed, see Romania , the path Turkey is on so there’s nothing to lose. Not an amusing topic. Something only a business person can handle because they know from experience not all of civilization is civil. Then again, Europe could just surrender. Which is what all the war games came to if the Warsaw Pact ever got tired of West Berlin being a destabilizing more than a nuisance - i.e. "we're dead anyway if we don't deal with this." with Neutron bombs the greens in Europe causing not to be properly positioned, would cause only a slight pause as their special sleeper cells in country already sappers took most them out.) And they had their own insane Patton who knew for a fact he and his 2 armies, twice the size of all NATO forces U.S. included, well disciplined and practiced, like Turkey fighting the PKK could do this with minimum (only a couple million) of losses because Europe was civilized, and he was a descendant of the brightest, and most brutal of Mongols. Maybe Ms. Merkel will realize all this a bit late as she approaches the firing squad wall and reflects on all she has not done, starting with dealing with immigrants who are now no longer immigrants but occupiers. Russia will stand aside given the Turkish take over serves their purpose as well. Best to have Turkey distracted while they take over the rest.
