He posted several times this evening, unless somebody is using his account.

okay thats weird, now a whole weekend worth of posts is up. Odd.

I routinely refresh my browser and delete cookies. Wonder if anyone else out there had this issue?

"Reader comments have become useless. Trolls, paid hacks and loosely organized interest groups have turned them into a vast wasteland. My own comment policy has evolved into a 3,000-word screed against the destructive work of the Internet’s trolls.

This is a shame. At one time, commenters had tremendous value within given communities. I wrote most of “Bailout Nation” online, 500 words at a time. The feedback and suggestions from readers were invaluable. Having a research staff of thousands was inordinately helpful. The resulting book was all the better for it. It is difficult to see that occurring again. And that’s a shame."

From Barry Ritholtz's column today in the WAPO.

In reality, Lutz says, here’s what happened: His best friend and former police partner, Jon Osowski (also the brother of Chisholm’s wife) was in trouble and requesting help in alarming phone conversations with Lutz. Urgently, Lutz phoned the Chisholms, leaving messages expressing increasing and agitated concern for his friend, Osowski.

So, the whistleblower was trying to help his ex-partner who happened to be the brother of his boss's wife (who was the union shop steward whom Walker made cry) and is now accused of making death threats against his boss who is a District Attorney during that intervention.

Milwaukee must be a very strange place.

Re Barry Ritholtz - not impressed. He states:

People lie to themselves. When confronted with facts that directly disagree with their beliefs, most people prefer to disregard the facts... I have repeatedly admonished readers about letting things like politics and narrative divert them from reality-based, data-driven investing.

But a quick google search shows he drank the global warming kool-aide.

Zero credibility.

It is not accurate to say I take pleasure in other's pain, yet seeing justice done when Democrats starve, homeless and hateful as ever, does induce a "pat myself on the back" notion.

They are suffering because they won't listen to me. Sad, but hopefully the great multitudes learn the lesson: stupid hurts. This would be a cause for celebration and affirm free will and all the responsibility it entails.

When the eggs crack themselves I say let's just enjoy the damn omelet.

Remember when E. Roosevelt said only you have the power to let someone offend you?

Same deal here. People fatally stupid don't make me feel empathy for them, but anger toward their stupid decisions and the evil persons pushing them.

This may be tough, but it is love, in the sense they will die if I feel tender sympathy, and live if I kick them in the ass and tell them to man up (especially the women).

I'll just be sitting here for your post on the Stuart Taylor follow up peeve. I think it pretty well covets the questions you had after the no longer anonymous source was poultry in the Bice piece. It seems to me that once Bice had what he needed to maintain his preferred narrative, he lost all curiosity.

That piece is from the 19th, and I posted on it already. Why not look for the post instead of wasting time waiting for it.

Nice. Why on earth would I look for something I quite clearly don't know exists?
