Peppermint stick...

... zinnia.

Untitled

Right here in our own front yard. Grown from seed, by Meade. And speaking of Meade... over at his blog, The Puparazzo...

Zingiber and Zinna

“Carry my bones with you out of this place.”

Zingiber, you edge the east of history
In the cornucopia of your root,
Navigating empire, traversing spice route,
Gaining universal appeal – this story
Is your real horn of plenty: medieval
Belief would see the source of your descent
Exalted in Edenic exodus, sent,
Reprieved and rescued far east of evil.

Zinnia, you edge the west of mystery….
In the asterix of your desert bloom
New worlds of color set their suns in starry
Nativity. Cortez among las mariposas.
In God’s garden plot he saw Adam
And Joseph naming the new genesis.

I just noticed that Carrel and Hathaway Get Smart (2008) parodies the Bond Moonraker parachute scene too, among its many allusions.

I'd forgotten that one, recalled on reviewing the Bond series again.

So killing 30 or so prostitutes in a brothel is not #waronwoman, but rather an authentic expression of cultural identity Thank God nobody refused to pay for their abortions!

At least the Dog World Cup would be 100 times more action than the human one!
