CNN is annoying me.

I want to blog 2 things from the "town hall" show Hillary Clinton did on CNN yesterday. I need the transcript. I google "hillary town hall transcript" and the first hit is:
CNN Town Hall: Hillary Clinton's Hard Choices - CNN.com
www.cnn.com/hillarytownhall/ CNN
CNN Town Hall: Hillary Clinton's Hard Choices. ... CNN TV · HLN · Transcripts · About us · Full Site · Feedback. © 2014 Cable News Network, Inc. A Time Warner ...
That ought to work, right? Wrong. I get to a page with practically nothing on it but this:

I need Plan B for finding the transcript, and Hillary's continual waving is mesmerizing in the most irritating possible way. It's not as though she's saying "Hi, Ann." It's "Hi Tumblr." I guess CNN thinks that's hip and cool, because all the kids these day use Tumblr, but the inane emptiness of it all is making me feel that CNN has no decent idea of how to be a compelling, serious news site. Hillary is doing a town hall to explain her way past Benghazi and on to the presidency. "Hi Tumblr" is no better an explanation than "What difference at this point does it make?"

But maybe CNN and Hillary's people — they must be in on it, because they have control, right? — think a breezier, younger Hillary is necessary and these social media things must be done these days for that certain sector of the electorate, those people who feel their way to the voting booth, those people who pushed The Likeable One past her in 2008.

Eventually, I scroll to the bottom of what is a long page, and absolutely the last thing on the page, in tiny, faint print is "transcripts," which I click on and get to a page that begins with a calendar where I can click on yesterday's date and go to a page with a list where I find "CNN Town Hall - Hillary Clinton's Hard Choices" and click through, at last to the page with the transcript.

Hi, Transcript.

I'm going to do 2 more posts, covering 2 things that — as I watched last night — I made a mental note to blog this morning. I think these are things that no one has noticed yet and that you'll find striking once I've pointed them out.

ADDED: I'm finding this post very hard to proofread because I have to view it in HTML mode to keep Hillary from waving at me distractingly.

Empty and inane. Vintage Hillary.
You go Tumblr.

I wonder why I haven't seen any discussion of the obvious possibility that Hillary Clinton is Lurleen Wallace dressed up for modern sensibilities: that if elected, Hillary will be purely ceremonial, and Bill will be doing all the heavy lifting. And, if so, we are going to be electing a president (Bill) without ever hearing a peep out of him on current issues and past history.

I feel that way about the top of this post. Easier to read once you can get the waving Hilary! off the page.

That's the dictator hailing a cab wave.

It seems to me that Hillary's strategy, doubtless coined by her husband, is to get complete coverage of all her sins and omissions out there now. Then when electioneering gets ernest amongst the candidates, her team's response will be "That's old news." whenever any hint of Benghazi, SSM or anything else comes back up.

She'll have a clean slate owing to the very short memory of the unwashed. She can even run on Hope and Change. It worked for the Zero.

Why no critique of the blue blouse and blue blazer? While not pictured, I imagine the pants were blue? The politics most certainly are blue.

The Likeable One.

Gaaaaaaaaaa.

Lots of us spotted him for the lying, stinking, con man piece of s*** he was right from the beginning.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !

With the Clintons, distraction is a feature, and in fact the feature, not a bug.

"ANNOUNCER: As secretary of state, she logged nearly a million miles, stared down foreign leaders...

CLINTON: Russia and China will pay a price."

Good enough for me, where's her crown you sexists? The only opposition to Hillary! is sexism, a worthy foe she knows oh so well.

Guildofcannonballs said...

"CLINTON: I had a friend from the Middle East saying they were having a watch party..."

Bill gets all excited: IS THAT LIKE A KEY PARTY???

Guildofcannonballs said...

"But I would hope that every American would understand, number one, why we were there, because we need to be in dangerous places,"

Yes but it was dangerous in the rooms Bill raped those women in, and we weren't there were we?

"And he made decisions that I believe had to be respected."

The decision to request help numerous times by your friend Chris you respected in what way most gracious and honorable Hillary?

Oh, geez, that wave is going to waggle on your page until your posts push it down and out.

Hurry and post lots more today, please, haha!

Nobody has to respect them now though, I believe currently.

I am not at all sure why you want to "blog 2 things" about Hill's "townhall" PSA, but the first observation I have is that she didn't write "Hard Choices" and even writers who oppose her politics treat her as the author.

In fact, the former First lady, NY Senator and Secretary of State has never written a book, although three have her name on the cover.

Clinton apparatchik Ted Widmer has been identified as having done the "heavy lifting" on the "Please Make Me President", err ... "Hard Choices" book. Widmer also did the Bill Clinton memoir, "My Life" in 2004.

Hillary's earlier books, "It Takes A Village", was ghostwritten by Barbara Feinman and in "Living History" - Maryanne Vollers, Lissa Muscatine and Ruby Shamir did the research and wrote the prose.

Just thinking...after the 8 year flop of the one they preferred....why would we want the one they rejected in the salad days of '08?

Ha....before reading this I had noted an excellent quote from James Poulos:
"It’s relatively easy to wave away a single scandal. It’s one of the hardest tricks in politics to wave away concerns that you wave away concerns too much."

He was referring to Obama and his administration in general, but it's kind of funny that I clicked over here to see Hillary waving at us.

You can tell a lot about a person by the expression on their face. On the cover of Hard Choices, HRC looks ripped and inanimate; it's as if she's held together with C-clamps.

Its kind of sad watching CNN trying to rekindle that "old magic" by shamelessly pushing this tired, saggy, bag of clinton crap. It was 20 years ago when CNN was a dominate force in cable news, and the clinton's were riding sky high, now look at them.

This is the 21st century- do Americans really want a relic of the last century as president?

Don't we need and want a fresh start - put the old grudges and stale ideas and failed policies behind us and elect someone who was not a part of those fights? So perhaps elect someone who is maybe in their 40's or early 50's?

@gk1-- Fox News hosted her as well last night?

Somebody should ask her or ask the ABC CEO what ever happened to "The Path to 9/11." It was excellent television and one would think they would want to release it in DVD form to pay a few bills.

I have a United 100,000-mile club tag from the 60s somewhere...

It's not on the bag in the closet I thought it was on, so I can't put up a pic.

It was slightly scraped by a faulty baggage carrousel at Newark but otherwise it's worthy of eBay.

It was used to stare down foreign motel workers.

Tumblr is inane though. So the Clinton News Network fits right in.

Her 1,000,000 miles of travel only spewed carbon into the atmosphere. Why are climate change worriers not pissed at her for this oversized carbon footprint?

I'm not a doctor and have never played one on TV -- but shouldn't her eyes be more in sinc when she looks up -- the left one looks Peter Faulkish.

Well, my point was that CNN is annoying, so…

I considered putting it below the fold for that reason, but I needed to express my annoyance by getting company in it.

Don't get too excited, Bill probably wants a cup of coffee.

I didn't know anyone watches CNN outside doctor's offices or airports.

It used to be said that God loves babies, fools, drunks and the United States of America. However if after eight years of Obama this country elects Hillary then it will be clear that God no longer loves fools and the United States of America.

And mesmerizing, although I found annoying - like someone scratching a chalkboard .
It was also promoted on Tumblr and if anyone knows tumblr, they know what a drama pit it is. Just think of the effect this would have on reactive, hysteria bordering kids, and adults.
