"Brett Hulsey's running for governor," I say, laughing...

... as I look at this story in the Wisconsin State Journal.

Meade does a triumphant fist pump and exults: "Yes!"

"Why are you reacting like that?" I ask, and he says, "Oh, because we have so much stuff on him."

Click the Brett Hulsey tag and scroll.

Hulsey has plainly had some issues to work through in the past 2 years. Voters are a forgiving lot.

I think his entry makes the race more interesting. I don't think he's really electable, but is that the point of his running?

After reading some of the background on Hulsey, can we be sure that he does not post under the 'nom de dummkopf' of "garage mahal"?

Blackmail? Isn't that illegal?

I was wondering when Meadehouse would weigh in on this...

The Burke-Hulsey debates won't remind anyone of Lincoln-Douglas, but they will be surreal entertainment.

He doesn't seem a more improbable candidate than many Democrats who've slunk into high office. And he has a muzzleloader so he's not entirely unlikeable. Trying to drown the kid was a little over-the-top, though.

At this point would anyone be surprised by anything Bret Hulsey would do? I mean anything? There is nothing so bizarre, freaky, or kinky that could be revealed that I wouldn't say "Sounds about right" in regard to this guy.

Doesn't he split the anti-Walker vote? Go Brett.

Unfortunately, we have no bargaining power here. Everything we have is on line, but feel free to make a big PayPal donation to this blog if you like what you see.

It's just battlespace preparation. After Burke gets walloped in November Democrats will be able to blame Hulsey, regardless of whether Walker has pulled in more votes than the two of them combined or not.

He's running as a Democrat so unless something changes he'll never face Walker along with Burke.

No porn vans rolling for underage boys and no sexual assaults as is the case for the WisGOP. He has that going for him.

Hulsey is not seeking re-election in his district as he has zero chance ... So he does this?

Sounds to me like he is just looking for reason to drive his campaign car some more before being forced to sell it.

The Dims may as well run a chucklehead because none of them running for the nom have any chance at all of unseating Walker. Let the games BEGIN!

What elected official(s) or GOP candidate(s) are you referring to?

Marty Keller said...

Heck, Alan Grayson got elected to Congress. Twice. How is this Hulsey thing any different?

Big Mike said...

@Curious George, you are correct. I understood him to be running as a third party candidate. My bad.

Mark said...

Big Mike, he wouldn't split the vote as he has zero legitimacy or supporters. Hoping for third party vote totals would be success for this dude.

We will stand with Governor Walker.

You know exactly who I am referring to.

LOL

So let me see if I understand garages latest unhinged rant.

The "WisGOP" has porn vans rolling around for underage boys and sexual assaults.

The "WisGOP".

LOL

Nope, I can think of no GOP office holder or candidate in WI that fits that claim.

Judging by what this blog has brought to our attention over the last few years with respects to Walker and the WI Democrats, Garage has demonstrated an apparently super acute vision in seeing things no one else has seen.

Mike Lang,

Indeed.

Before WA gained an additional seat and redrew its Congressional districts, I lived in Norm Dick's district. (Yes, the wording is deliberate.)

One year, the Republicans "ran" * an honest-to-goodness 9/11 truther against Dicks. That was one of the few years I voted for the incumbent.
