Things to do with an abandoned shack in the middle of the desert.

Nice!

Somebody, do that to Detroit, right?

Did you ever notice all the bullet holes in the signs along the road?

Sadly, the same thing will happen here.

Urban architects are unaware of the phenomenon of bullet holes in abandoned buildings growing larger the further from town. Sleep tight.

I think it works better without the LEDs -- they make it look tacky. But the effect shown in the daylight pictures is very nice.

Looks Like a Nice Quiet Place to Type My Manifesto. I Have Not Shaved for Days: I Am Ready.

I Will Walk Around the Snack Clockwise and Reflect. Mirror Joke. Just Because I Am a Solitary Unshaven Figure in an Abandoned Shack Writing My Manifesto Doesn't Mean Everything Has to Be So Serious. The Time for the Big Serious is Coming.

That's pretty cool.

If a Government Does Not Fear its People It Will Grow Too Bold. Tar and Feathers Is -- Many Times -- an Appropriate Response when Responsibly Applied.

Agreed, Balfegor. I like the LED idea, but not the "Let's use all the colors of the rainbow!" aspect. A subtler swath of the visible spectrum, or maybe white or pale yellow light, but in gradations of strength?

I immediately recognized the surroundings as Joshua Tree, California. Five acre lots were sold there for a future retirement community to WWII vets in the 1950's. My parents were attracted to it for the desert climate for their arthritis. It boomed for awhile in the 70's and 80's. Then the Landers Earthquake killed real estate values in the 90's and it never recovered after that. Lots of the abandoned shacks became meth labs and burned down. The desert is a naturally beautiful place in the Spring and Fall. Not so much in Summer or Winter.

It appears the title photo was taken straight on. So where is the photographer's reflection?.Must have been photoshopped out.
