Written strangely early in the morning...

What am I doing writing 7 posts between the hours of 1 and 3?

Maybe I should switch to blogging only in the middle of the night.

I had one of those sleepless nights the night before last. It's making me consider buying tart cherry juice again, rich in melatonin. It did help.

I'ts called ... getting older. Being awake in the middle of the night comes with the territory. Sadly, I speak from personal experience. I blame this on that "second sleep" article you blogged about earlier.

What's up Althouse? Can't sleep?
Meade sawing logs?
Dogs fidgety?
Maybe lingering paint fumes from the back porch?

As long as Meade is up early to moderate.

I had a much bigger problem with a wakeful period in the middle of the night when I was younger.

I think being older makes you get up earlier in the morning, because you're just done sleeping (and went to bed early).

It's much worse when you know you need more sleep, but I've read that it's better to get up and do things, then go back to sleep. I rarely do that. But I did start reading in bed, and everything looked interesting to me, to the point where I thought I might stay awake thinking about blogging this stuff. So I got up and blogged it.

Got back to sleep.

Your soul may temporarily be in a European time zone. Have you been drinking Heinekins?

Ann, this is not on any current topic, but I just gotta say ...

... that thing on Drudge
KERRY: ARABS WILL FINANCE OUR WAR
is absolutely the most astonishing I've seen in dacades.

The headline ought to read
KERRY OFFERS TO PIMP OUT US MILITARY IN INTRA-ARAB DISPUTE.

Reading closer,
Secretary of State John Kerry said at Wednesday’s hearing that Arab counties have offered to pay for the entirety of unseating President Bashar al-Assad if the United States took the lead militarily.
...so the end objective is regime change. Or at least regime end - nothing said or promised about what the regime might be changed to.

OK, we toss a few Tomahawks. If Assad is still in power after that, do we still get paid?

If there is any retribution from, say Al Quaida, who would get retributed against?

Jeeze!
