Madison Man, my thoughts and prayers for you, your brother and family.

Georges Bataille

Risen from the stench of the manure pile -- even though it seemed for a moment to have escaped it in a flight of angelic and lyrical purity -- the flower seems to relapse abruptly into its original squalor: the most ideal is rapidly reduced to a wisp of aerial manure. Flowers do not age honestly like leaves, which lose nothing of their beauty, even after they have died; flowers wither like old and overly made-up dowagers, and they die ridiculously on stems that seemed to carry them to the clouds.

You want to know what peony flowers don't like?

I'll tell you what peony flowers don't like.

Peony flowers don't like a full day of 95 degrees of blazing sun.

That's what peony flowers don't like.

I don't have peony envy like I did yesterday.

As rhhardin expounded via Georges Bataille, this one isn't as pretty.

Looks like the peony express is a little late.

Ill take the fifth, but before i do lets take a break first.

If you're taking a fifth, find a designated driver.

And another in our "This Can't Be Good" series:

According to Kraut, Choom NEVER sought help for our guys, was cooking up a cover story before they were dead.

Best line from this year's college commencement speeches (sort of)...

...you young straight men, in particular, have had amazing advantages. This school, like every other liberal arts institution today, is 60% women. Factor in a gay population of 8% to 10%, and the odds were massively, groaningly in your favor.

You and Krauthammer are being too kind. It is worse than that. When an incident like Benghazi occurs, messages get sent out, as we've discussed, and pre-planned responses are put in to motion.

It takes the White House, or at least a designee at the very top of the Pentagon, to recall a response in motion. Hillary and State do not have that authority.

Remember that the top of the Pentagon was the implement used to set the video story with Reuters, et al, by noon the next day.

IMO Cheerios is crap. That aside, the ad made me laugh. Pity interracial relationships continue to elicit negative reactions by some.

And one of these days, maybe, we will learn just how we, via the Department of State, helped Al Qaeda contribute to that.

Might even find out how we're involved in Syria.

My next challenge will be to make Cheereos appear appealing to an antiCheereoite. I intend to use fresh strawberries, blueberries and banana to doll it up and make it look attractive even if you don't like fruit, you'll be thinking, "Oh, my parrot would like that."

my point was to remind people Benghazi is anything but dead, that this thing still has the potential to blow up in Choom's face.

All the talk has been about the IRS and media scandals; it's important to remember there are others on the scandalabra.

I've loved Cheerios ever since it sponsored the Lone Ranger, but nasty me has been wondering if there's a breakdown regarding from which side of the divide the offending comments originated.

That information might not fit with the PC narrative. Much as I hate it, and have spent most of my life opposing it, in parts of Detroit there is a problem with racism...and it isn't originating from the few remaining whites.

A friend's 8 year old son has been told by his black peers that he owes them anything they want...just because he is white. It's not incidental...it is every day he is told this if he dares to go outside. His family, hardly well off, have found a HUD house in a small town 80 miles away from here, have paid for it, and they are moving there next month.

Way to go all y'all the black liberation theology motherfuckers...including dick faces like Tarantino and his racist movie. You have spawned a generation who feels entitled to hate based upon race alone.

That's one less taxpayer in Detroit. Just what they need.

Re: Youtube video of destruction of WW II British Military Cemetery in Libya

Quite unlike the comment posted by a South American of German lineage who wrote at the American Military Cemetary in Epinal, France:

"Bringing my sons to show them the sacrifice of all these heroes that freed us from Hell."

It seems these people want to bring Hell to us.

Sure hope someone answers that 3 AM phone call quickly and appropriately.

Where was Obama that night? We want to know. We need to know.

edutcher said...

It happened in Cincy a few years ago and Philadelphia a few weeks ago; that's why I wondered.

On another note, Gateway (as well as Ace noting McClatchy isn't covering) has some specifics on the
metastasiztion of the IRS scandal
.

This is a "cafe" thread right? So let me demonstrate my naiveté once again.

Question: Why do normal people, under no duress, set up sock puppets ... multiple nickname-identities? What is the purpose?

JAL said...

Here in the South we see interracial couple quite frequently -- probably more than the Northeast. I have never seen or heard anything derogatory in public -- not that it's not there, because it certainly is.

The worst example of that I am aware of was the recent NC incident where some Wal-Mart shopper reported a white guy who had three little light brown girls with curly hair with him who were calling him "Daddy." (Now THAT person was/is a complete idiot.)

Whoever they were "reported" the guy to the WalMart security (reported what I have no idea as there were no *behaviors* warranting a report except it "didn't look right!")

Wal-Mart security (idiots squared) relayed the info (what info?) to the cops who then did a check of the guy. (How they knew where he lived is a mystery.)

Biracial couple, white dad, black mom, 3 darling little girls.

So yes, actually some people down here do need to get out more.

(I like Cheerios, besides. Low sugar.)

The idea that he was zonked on coke may turn out to be his best out.

PS The Arabs were rooting for Rommel back then. there was a saying back then, "In Heaven, your master is Allah; on earth, it is Adolf Hitler".

Things haven't changed.

There are a lot of them here (I'm talking NE OH and, earlier, SE PA), too and not a lot of fuss over it.

I was reading The Smoking Gun last night on my phone at work and saw this story, which has to be the ultimate bad date topper story. No matter how bad a story anyone else can tell, this woman can top it!

Drunk Driver Was Having Sex Before Crash

"Man left bloody, naked partner in road, sought to hide in cactus"

Shamed, injured and naked, and he tried to drive off and leave her! I'm guessing she won't be putting out for him again!

Thank you for all your kind thoughts yesterday. It happened before sister arrived, but we were skyping when it happened, so that counts for something.

I was able -- already! -- to secure a death certificate! And will get ashes tomorrow. That's good speedy service. Thank you Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers! If I still yelped, I'd give you many stars! And I think I avoided protracted probate. Fingers still crossed about that one.

MadisonMan ... somehow I missed a statement of what happened in your life...either I'm oblivious these days (possible) or just not reading much lately (true). Never-the-less, from you later remark I gather there was a death in your family and for that I am extremely sorry. I am happy that you seem to be on top of it. Take care.
