The 5 guys who attacked Monte Ball said "something along the lines of 'nine more football players to go'..."

"They said that two or three times and they just kept running...." according to one witness. Ball is the University of Wisconsin star running back (a Heisman finalist last year).

What's with the math? How can you get 11 minus 1 wrong?

Maybe they are honoring the red jersey that the QB wears that means "no contact".

Only 10 of the players are on the hit list?

Obviously they are only targeting 10 offensive starters. Otherwise they would have 21 other targets.

Maybe one of the perps is way down on the depth charts.

There are more than 11 team members in football, Ann. Only 11 take the field at one time, but there is usually three teams, offense, defense and special teams for kickoffs, etc.

The 11th player becomes the suspect.

That only makes it harder to infer the arithmetic that gets you to 9.

I think a physical attack on college football players is unlikely to be successful if they know it is coming.

Maybe they are really into Agatha Christie and are confusing little Indians with football players.

Once again proving athletic scholarship is an oxymoron.

It means there've been a lot of unreported attacks on UW football players.

Perhaps they have already assaulted one football player who didn't report the crime?

Why did they say "nine more football players" rather than simply "nine more"? If they were targeting only football players, that would be implied and redundant. So, what if the point was to beat up X number of people from certain groups. Maybe the overall category is jocks, but maybe it's groups that antagonized the perpetrators (real or imagined) in high school.

Let me try again...

It means that only 9 other football players are not going to vote for Obama. It's that simple.

If you can't count to 11...THANK A TEACHER!

When the offensive line players find the 5 tacklers of their running back, then the NCAA may have to consider sanctions for excessive stomping after the play is over.

But I wonder where the other 5 running backs were that night. They will be seeing no playing time this year because Ball refused to go to the NFL when he could have.

No, thank your idiot parents. My kids could count to 11 before they were three yrs old.

It's very hard to imagine what every day is like for those with an IQ of 85 or below. It's another world, just like the world of guys who take photos up the skirts of ladies on escalators.

Must have been Michigan State grads.

or MayBee was correct:
The 11th player becomes the suspect.

or the suspect may be the 11th string tailback.

The quote is what was said according to Monte Ball.

What they actually said may be something quite different.

Something about this ain't quite right. It sounds like it was a setup.

Ball was with a friend all night, but a moment before the attack the friend decided to walk far enough ahead of Ball that he couldn't (ostensibly) see of hear the attack? Or maybe he knew that attack was coming. Perhaps he knew the attackers and texted them Ball's location.

I'm not buying the official story.

"I've now been in 57 states? I think one left to go. Alaska and Hawaii, I was not allowed to go"

Their mathematics was skewed due to the stress of campaigning. Still, it is odd that they would underestimate the count, unless their thoughts were confused by deficit (i.e. false) spending.

Maybe they are targeting the star player for each school in the Big Ten. At some point they'll realize they have to adjust their numbers.

Crimso said...

And you'll note the perps didn't bother to ask him what the frequency is, as though they already have an answer for that (hmmmm).

Sue Grafton, call your office!

Time to check with Las Vegas for what bets were placed on the Big Ten Championship just before the assault.

Where exactly was the punter that night?

Crimso said...

The punter? Hell, I'd wonder where Tonya Harding was that night. She's bound to be mixed up in this somehow.

According to Central District Capt. Carl 'Clouseau' Gloede, MonteE Ball may have been involved in a disturbance involving football players earlier that night.

Madison police said they believe a “precipitating event” led to the attack early Wednesday on University of Wisconsin senior running back Montee Ball

Crunchy Frog said...

Maybe they were beating up players with misspelled names.

Monty would have been spared.

Goju said...

The punter? He should be safe. The attackers were targeting football players.

Why would I thank my idiot parents? Fuck, you for that, BTW.

I can count to 11. Did you think I was a Black thug roaming the streets of Madison?

Good Lord, I'm pleased to hear you have progeny. Hope they can find some awesome jobs to pay of the awesome debt you and President Awesome gifted them. They're gonna need to keep those counting lessons up...

You know the old joke don't you?

a little off here:

11 Americans were raping a German girl.

She screamed "NINE! NINE! NINE!"

So (insert you're own incorrect calculation) of them left.
