There must be a God. I love fresh broccoli and lightly steamed broccoli.

The first Pres. Bush said he hated broccoli. He was a very strange fellow.

Every restaurant now has a side of steamed broccoli, carrots and cauliflower to replace the potatoes. We weight watchers thank them.

Leaf fall (about one minute in).

That isn't broccoli.

It's Romanesco broccoli.

The past few weeks, I've been buying broccoli at the farmers market. It tastes so much better than the stuff in the grocery stores.

An Italian myth is if a mother wants a baby boy she should eat broccoli. I don't know if broccoli rabe qualifies, but it probably does.

Does anybody know what happened to Trooper York? I've been noticing we're short one curmudgeon.

Big weekend for the UAA College Republicans with Karl Rove here to speak at their event at the Convention Center. Wonder if the local Occupiers will move the block or two from the town square to get in on some of the publicity... However my bets are on the hard-left leaning capitalist local rag planning to be somewhere else. I may look for the write-up in the even harder left free alternative weekly.

Broccoli and Cauliflower got married in somebody's yard!

That Romanesco is awesome! It's like a Mandelbrot set.

@ChipAhoy--Stop me if you've heard this already:

Q: What does the "B." in "Benoit B. Mandelbrot" stand for?

A: "Benoit B. Mandelbrot"

@wdnelson

Of course. Thank you.

The Broccoli family brought us the veggie from Italy, and put James Bond on the silver screen.

Something for everyone!

It'll look better with some Hollandaise or mayo on it.

Troop and Ann have their fallings out, not unlike Crack and Ann.

I'm beginning to think she's got her own harem.

ChipS, that was exactly what I was thinking. Fractals were all the rage in mathematical circles about 25 years ago; I haven't heard much about them since.

After a little research I begin to get the picture. What I gather to be Troop's reasons are not unfamiliar to me. Everyone of worth around here is disappearing, usually for the same reason.

Nice, but it's still broccoli.

No. Artichokes.

DBQ, Please understand, what a woman may consider to be the "worst" farts many men consider to be the best. Men are from Mars....

Bye, bye Brett. Loads of talent, no idea how to use it.

Hey, now!

Actually, after a little of the same research I was struck by the self-similarity of the blogosphere.

Interesting coincidence that this topic surfaces in a thread with fractal-geometry references.
