"Do I think, as a publicist, that I now have to have my eye on some kid who’s writing a blog in Oklahoma as much as I do on an editor from Vogue?"

"Absolutely. Because once they write something on the Internet, it’s never coming down. And it’s the first thing a designer is going to see."

So now, the bloggers are sitting in the front row, just 2 seats down from Anna Wintour. How terribly painful for Anna!

Never mind Anna. Think of how Robin Givhan feels.

".. she looks like she's in pain, doesn't she?"

One day soon, Anna will be pushed into the second row - and the first row will be filled with other, more important people.

Then she'll look pained. Once she is forced to realize she's not needed.

I can't wait till the NY Times prints that picture, assuming of course that they're still around. And that's a huge assumption.

I remember when Bryan Boy had a silly little gay blog, occasionally posting pictures people sent in of themselves posing with bags. Now he's sitting in the front row with Anna Wintour. Bravo little man Bravo!

He still has a silly little gay blog.

Where's The Manolo ... that's what I want to know.

He's far more important.

In fairness, even I winced when I finally clicked on the post. Look at the photo of the two bloggers. I think I know what Wintour is thinking.

"I can't believe I have been seated near these two dilettantes. Look at them! A frightened scruffy chihuahua and one who looks like he just came from KP duty at the Chinese takeaway. What possible STYLE could these two write about? I offer beautifully manicured nails, and sleek legs -- and they offer pitstains. PITSTAINS in the front row. I won't stand for this! WHERE'S ANDRÉ!"

Not only is he two seats from Anna, he's farting.

Like it or not, the blogosphere has changed everything - society is about to be democratized in a way even Old Hickory couldn't have imagined.

Florida: Where's The Manolo ... that's what I want to know.

He went to South America and started writing professionally and it hasn't been the same since. Even when he came back; there's not the same energy and whimsy in his work anymore.

There are companies that monitor blogs for their clients for a living =, and I work for one of them - KDPaine and Partners. Just FYI.

Clearly I'm in the wrong line of blogging.

Vic, your eye went to the unfortunate picture... The blogging teen on the side is adorable -- and stylish.

How does one get a gig monitoring blogs for a living? That sounds wonderful.

I looked at her blog, Style Rookie, and she is absolutely wonderful - bright, great sense of style, adventurous. No wonder Anna looks so grumpy.

It sucks to find out that your creative career is based on nothing but schmoozing.
