An essay on dignity.

That WaPo apology got me thinking about this: From "Welcome to the Dollhouse," a movie I highly recommend.

It seems like a solipsistic view of dignity.

The kid would get instant dignity by commenting that the teacher seems to have a dysfunctional personality disorder and asking how she can help.

WTTDH is another one of my favorite films. Have you seen "Songs From The Second Floor"?

I never thought we'd be living in my movies, but oh well.

I couldn't get through "Welcome to the Dollhouse".

I accept that it is a deadly accurate depiction of Junior High. But, frankly, I don't want to WATCH a deadly-accurate depiction of Junior High. I barely made it through Junior High the first time around. :)

So many roads, so much at stake
So many dead ends, I'm at the edge of the lake
Sometimes I wonder what it's gonna take
To find dignity
