Are people with light eyes smarter than people with dark colored eyes?

Dr. Helen's eyes.

Sebastian Sholes, fisherman in diner: Hell, maybe we're all getting a little carried away with this. Admittedly a few birds did act strange, but that's no reason to...
Melanie Daniels: I keep telling you, this isn't 'a few birds'! These are gulls, crows, swifts...!
Mrs. Bundy, elderly ornithologist: I have never known birds of different species to flock together. The very concept is unimaginable. Why, if that happened, we wouldn't stand a chance! How could we possibly hope to fight them?

Crossin' the highway late last night,
He shoulda looked left and he shoulda looked right,
He didn't see the station wagon, car,
The skunk got squashed and there you are!

You got yer
Dead skunk in the middle of the road,
Dead skunk in the middle of the road,
Dead skunk in the middle of the road,
Stinkin' to high heaven!
Take a whiff on me that ain't no rose!
Roll up yer window and hold yer nose,
You don't have to look and you don't have to see,
'Cause you can feel it in your olfactory,

Yeah you got yer dead cat and you got yer dead dog,
On a moonlight night you got yer dead toad frog
Got yer dead rabbit and yer dead raccoon,
The blood and the guts they're gonna make you swoon!
You got yer dead skunk, in the middle,
Dead skunk in the middle of the road.
Dead skunk in the middle of the road,
Stinkin' to high heaven.
C'mon stink!

High rises and high winds and/or darkness kill amazing numbers of migratory songbirds every year.

Either they get blown into them by high winds or they run into them at night flying into their lights.

Either way, they are pretty hard on migrating birds.

"they are pretty hard on migrating birds."

But somehow pigeons are invulnerable to all the hazards of urban life, like a feathered form of cockroach.

What is it about dead animals that makes them so obviously dead?

Ruth Anne Adams said...

Ralph: The obviously dead ones show up on Althouse.

TJ, a pigeon is nothing more than a rat with wings.
